WayCAM expands programming for Comcast subscribers

Comcast subscribers can now watch more local TV programming, due to a new deal struck with WayCAM, Wayland’s public access TV station. WayCAM will now broadcast on Comcast channels 8 and 9. The new channel line-up allows more time for government meetings and publicly produced programs to air for the whole town to see.

Channel 8 will now be dedicated to public and educational programming: Including shows produced by high school students and adult volunteers from Wayland, as well as local talk shows, school events, and sports broadcasts. Channel 8 now features our regular live shows, such as “Sports Update,” “Wayland Weekly,” and “Ask the Rep with State Representative Tom Conroy.” Channel 9 is where Wayland residents can catch live government meetings, such as the Board of Selectmen. On a night when the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee meet, the Board of Selectmen meeting will broadcast on channel 9 and the School Committee will appear on channel 8.

WayCAM’s Verizon channels will follow suit: Channel 37 now features public and educational programming, while channel 38 rebroadcasts government meetings. Verizon channel 39 will remain Wayland’s only channel for local public service announcements.

Public Service Announcements

Attention Wayland!

Public service announcements to be posted on the Wayland Channel’s Community Bulletin Board should be directed to PSA@WayCAM.tv. From now on.

Please note: To be most effective, PSAs should be brief, and should only contain 10 lines of text maximum, and have no more than 30 characters per line. WayCAM does NOT edit your PSA, so please check to be sure the information is correct and written exactly as you want to see it published.

Thank you!
