2 WHS Seniors Receive Scholarships

WayCAM, Wayland’s Public Access Cable TV station presented its 2010, Third Annual Scholarship Awards, to Wayland High School Seniors, Alex Marks (left) and Joe Bushee (right), flanked by members of the WayCAM Board of Directors, Richard Turner, Ken Isaacson and Erin Dalbec. Alex and Joe received their awards for outstanding service in TV production. Among their achievements were pioneering in co-anchoring live high school sports broadcasts, hosting the Wayland High School live weekly cable TV show ‘Sports Update,’ and performing an unprecedented 500 volunteer hours of TV production, during their final year at WayCAM. Alex will be attending Syracuse University, and Joe will be attending Boston College. Citing the influence of their experiences as part of WayCAM, both will be majoring in communications media. Since 2007 WayCAM has awarded six college scholarships to graduating seniors. The scholarships are partially funded by annual dues of WayCAM members from the community and local businesses.
